The statistics are shocking: according to UN Women Data, at the pace we are going it is still going to take 130 years to reach global gender equality in the highest positions of power. According to other research, women continue to be outnumbered, outranked and out-earned by men in the Canadian public service and we all know that this is much worse for Black women, Indigenous women and women of colour. So in recognition of the work that we all still need to do to create balanced and equal workplaces and International's Women's Day (March 8th), I am sharing five things that I believe any HR professional (or anyone for that matter) can do on their own and within their own organization to help shrink the gender gap.
